Coach Stephen (Stevo) McLaughlin founded The Potters House Prep, to give athletes extra time to accomplish their college basketball career goals. Family is the foundation of PHP; Coach Stevo operates along with his wife Ashley McLaughlin who provides administrative support to him and daily support for the athletes and parents. They both are passionate about pouring into the lives of youth and preparing them for life on and off the court. Coach Stevo has more than ten years of experience producing high-level basketball players. Ashley is a cancer survivor and shows the players that no matter what life hands you, with faith in God overcoming any obstacle is possible. At PHP, we help gifted youth develop their potential in the area of education, athletics, and life skill development. Athletes are allowed by the NCAA to complete up to 2 college courses during the year; however, this is optional. Our athletes who need credit recovery courses study with The Ogburn School in Jacksonville, Florida. The Ogburn School allows virtual attendance, so most work is completed at The Potters House Christian Academy, in the study hall.

We provide an environment for athletes to experience a college basketball workout and game schedule. At PHP, athletes will learn time management, and we are their accountability partners in that aspect. Monday through Friday our schedule begins with an early morning wakeup. The day starts with strength and agility training with a personal trainer before breakfast. We then move into study time to complete credit recovery and or college credit. Lunch is served at The Potters House Christian Academy before an afternoon break. Team workouts follow in the afternoon; then dinner is served by The Potters House Soul Food Bistro. Athletes have the opportunity to get shots up in the evening before lights out.

Our post-grad team competes in the Sunshine Independent Athletic Association (SIAA) conference which is one of the best conferences in the country; they also play some National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) games, as well as some JUCO games. There is an excellent opportunity for our athletes to receive maximum exposure to college coaches and play with the best of the best.
